From hacker to MD to cybersecurity luminary

Buckle up for a roller coaster ride in professional development and personal branding. Early in his career Benoit Desjardins, MD, PhD decided to explore holes in healthcare websites, databases and portals as a white hat hacker. His career then evolved to one as a distinguished medical imaging specialist at Penn Medicine where in addition to his regular practice he became a luminary in healthcare AI and cybersecurity. He is now retired from Penn and has moved back to his native Canada. Benoit is truly a Renaissance man and “polymath” with advocations as a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, a Boy Scout leader, a competitive marksman, and a freestyle FPV drone pilot and racer.
